Docs don't match current release version?

I just checked the repo today, wondering if any of the changes made over the last 1+ years had made it to a new release, yet. To my surprise, I noticed that the docs had been updated to reflect some new changes, but the latest code is still what I am running... is there something I am missing? Are the docs describing changes in another soon-to-be-released version?

@jnunemaker has been doing some pretty big refactoring over the last year or so, which has not been released yet.

I got back on it a few weeks ago. Hoping to finish things up for a preview release in the next month or so.
