Don't preload all images, just the initially visible ones

Preloading all of the images in the carousel could be a performance problem if there are many large images. It would be better to have the preload() function only load flankingItems*2 images before displaying something.

This is a good point and could indeed become a performance bottleneck. I'll look into this for version 2.1
