Transparent background, using 'real' transparency, is possible. Just need to call setWindowOpacity() in AbstractNotificationWidget().

A configurable method would be much better. As would a permanent notification that pops up along with the settings so we users could see the changes in real-time.

There was some in previous releases. Though, at some point drawing a translucent window got broken for me. As for setWindowOpacity(), i don't really like this approach — it makes text less readable. What i prefer is translucent background + opaque text. (But right now i'm not running a composite manager at all.)

Anyway, thank you for you feedback, i hope i'll find some free time to rewrite this daemon from scratch.
