Hello --

As of Sep 24, 2025, YouTube has made changes to their platform that affects how downloaders such as yt-dlp (the one that is used within AMV Tracker) must work in order to grab videos from YouTube. Unfortunately this means that, at least for the time being and likely moving forward (until YouTube makes it even more difficult in the future for applications like yt-dlp to work), AMV Tracker users will need to take an additional step to be able to use its download function. You can read more about this change here:

yt-dlp/yt-dlp#14404

For the time being, the solution for AMV Tracker users is as follows. Please note that this assumes that you have already installed yt-dlp following the instructions provided in AMV Tracker's Settings, on the README, or in the wiki.

  1. Locate the yt-dlp.exe file on your computer. This can be done by going in to AMV Tracker's Settings and noting the filepath provided in the box next to the "Find yt-dlp.exe" button.
  2. Go to the yt-dlp Releases page, and download the most current yt-dlp.exe file from the listed assets (nothing else needs to be downloaded).
  3. Put the newly-downloaded yt-dlp.exe file in the same directory as the one identified in step 1, overwriting the old .exe file.
  4. Go to the deno Releases page, and download the most current Windows release archive (it should be called "deno-x86_64-pc-windows-msvc.zip").
  5. Inside the archive should be a file called deno.exe -- extract this file to the same location as yt-dlp.exe.

And that should do it -- downloading YouTube videos from AMV Tracker should work now. If you come across any issues with this functionality in the future, please note that you will need to make sure both yt-dlp.exe and deno.exe are updated in this way.
