Choosing Library Version for Usage: 1.3.4 vs 2.0

Hi,

Thank you for creating and continuing to maintain this library. I want to write
bindings for this library in Haskell and use it myself.

Would you suggest I write bindings to 1.3.4 or if 2.0?

1.3.4 is a very old release (~ 10 years) & 2.0 is not released yet. What are the
improvements (or bug fixes) in 2.0? I couldn't find anything useful in the Changelog.
