Icon's counter doesn't update since Github Beta notification center

Hi,
Github released a Beta of its new notification center. The Github Mate's counter (on the browser icon) still stuck and doesn't update anymore.

yeah. Noticed that as well.
I may attempt a fix. We'll see.
