Performance issue with troll chat msgs (5 fps)

It's possible for someone to send chat messages that cause betterchat to lag hard.
I was in the middle of a non-serious event at the time so didn't get the logs, but the message was like below I think but way longer. I suspect it's just because of the sheer number of newlines in each chat msg.
