Json schema, how to support?

With the current approach I can not send and receive just JSON data through rest-proxy. It is only Avro or binary.

It would probably be really simple to add JSON support -- see the avroSchema.js code as an example. That said, there's already an example that shows how you can pass JSON data through the binary serializer -- just use JSON.stringify on the data before passing it to this library: https://github.com/confluentinc/kafka-rest-node/blob/master/examples/twitter/stream_tweets.js#L119
