Street names with umlauts are corrupted

Setting up modeify for a German region, street names in the walk instructions are corrupted, e.g. 'Hauptstraße' becomes 'Hauptstra E'.

This is caused be a to-no-case not supporting UTF8.

This could be fixed upstream or by switching to e.g. Title Case as described in the above issue.

Is this project currently active? If yes, I'd provide a PR.

This project is no longer under active development but instances of it are still running. PRs are welcome for bug fixes. If you plan to make feature changes I would recommend forking the project as any substantial review of changes make take longer than is desirable.
