New "official" place for banyan development?

Looks like https://code.google.com/p/banyan/ is dead.
@cpcloud do you plan to maintain banyan in the future?

A project of mine (https://github.com/pyannote/pyannote-core) heavily relies on banyan and I'd like to make sure I link it to a maintained repository...

For now, I have my own copy of PyPI source code on GitHub, that fixes installation on OS X Maverick (see pyannote@cb041d2).

I'd like to, but I'm not sure I'll have the time. I forked this in the interest of experimenting with pandas index objects using interval trees and other things ended up taking priority.

In the meantime I can do a small bit of maintenance work to help with installation and I'll gladly review and accept pull requests.

OK. Thanks. I guess my next question is: will you also push the updated banyan to pypi?
Are you in contact with Ami Tavory (the original author) to take over "banyan" official release channel?

Otherwise, I might need to register my own (unmaintained and unofficial) banyan under a different name on pypi as I really need my user to be able to "pip install banyan".

Anyhow, you did a very good job simplifying setup.py and I think I am going to use this one :)

@hbredin Did you consider using the SortedContainers module? It's actively maintained and easily installed from PyPI. Banyan may be faster but it depends on your use case. The performance comparison may help. Because you're using the updator functionality in Banyan, switching out modules isn't trivial. I'd be glad to help if you want to try.

The updator functionality is indeed needed by pyannote-core.
Unless SortedContainers can easily be extended with such functionality, I think I'll stick with my own pip-installable fork (pyannote-banyan).
