Possible to add functionality as digipeater?

When hiking many times my handheld is not powerful enough to reach an iGate. It would be great if my mobile radio in my car could digipeat my APRS transmission from my handheld, hopefully giving it enough power to reach an iGate. Would that be possible with this script or if the script was modified to support that functionality?

Yaesu doesn't let external programs transmit via their internal TNC. The only way you can get digipeating out of a Yaesu APRS radio is to ignore the internal APRS features and connect an external TNC to the audio path of the radio.
