@WalBeh did some orientation flights about how to retrieve shard size distribution figures. It would be sweet to add it to the SQL library, and unlock it through some concise CLI.

There is no longer a need to integrate relevant queries into the library and build up a tool from there, because @WalBeh already whipped up XMover - CrateDB Shard Analyzer and Movement Tool. That's great, thanks!
