Description
Task
The OTP system is used to allow password less login. (P stands for PIN.) This is coupled with the fact that registration can only be completed with a utoronto email address. This allows authentication to be performed when logging on to their mail client, with the same security features that are mandated by the University. Ideally:
- when an unregistered user wants to register, if the email address is of the utoronto.ca domain, an email containing the OTP is sent to the provided email so they can complete registration.
- when a registered user wants to log on, an OTP is sent to the provided email address. The user can only complete login when they enter the correct OTP.
We will need to send OTP emails out from a no-reply email address #1 .
