Description

The occupation field is either absent or not displayed properly.

Consideration

Many organizational members have been assigned an occupation value. We do not want these values to be displayed. A conditional display rule will be needed.

This issue was discussed in a working meeting today. Here are the minutes:

• Ryan noted a difference in how occupation elements are nested in one another compared to other vocabulary concepts.
• FJ: Is the CAPACOA occupations’ vocabulary even loaded to Artsdata?
• GSF: No, we don’t have a CAPACOA vocabulary for occupation.
• The plugin is currently attempting to load and display occupations from the Artsdata core graph. The core graph includes many occupation triples imported from Wikidata. Many occupation labels from Wikidata were imported to Artsdata. We may need to upload a few more.
• Action item: FJ to validate whether this property is needed or if we remove it from the Shortcode plugin.

@saumier: In the end I didn't consult the CAPACOA team. We need this property on the directory. Otherwise a user consulting a consultant's record and expecting it to be an artist record would be puzzled.

As discussed Jan 23rs, in Friday's work session with Frederic and Ryan, we decided to hide this property until sometime in the future. This property has been hidden (commented out) in the latest release of the short-code plugin.

I'll keep this issue open, with a "next iteration" tag - I don't want to lose sight of it.

Current state of the plugin:

The plugin pulls occupations from Wikidata. However, for an occupation to be properly displayed in the directory, the concept must be imported in Artsdata, along with its label.

If/when we move forward with this enhancement, we'll have to prepare a controlled vocabulary of occupations.
