Using HTML file for content

One question, is there any way you can use a html file/s to populate the inside of the sidebar instead of updating the inner html using JS?

Apparently you can refer to html files inside your extension folder even inside another webpage context.

@kieranheadley There's also HTML imports ^[1].

I just realized that chrome is one of the few browsers that supports it ^[2], so why not?
