White point auto-calibration #800

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
It would be nice to have a wizard to properly set contrast and brightness for a given scanner.

Describe the solution you'd like
I'd like to have a printable pattern, with grey gradients and some narrow lines. The pattern must be printed with maximum quality on completely white sheet (not recycled ones). After scanning that page, a loop will change contrast and brightness in order to reach the white point that is in a well known position, without mixing adjacent gradients or clearing narrow lines.

Describe alternatives you've considered
The "scientific" procedure will be buying a IT8 sheet printed with special printers, and made for a specific scanner, but we don't need so much precision.

Additional context
The process should be made for grey scan profiles, I don't know if colour can change the situation but it can happen, so probably we need to save the result for each profile.
