The SOS signal should not have spacing between the letters when transmitted.

Quoting Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SOS

the individual letters of "SOS" are transmitted as an unbroken sequence of three dots / three dashes / three dots, with no spaces between the letters.

I am adhering to the international morse code timing:

The latter source has a nice calculation on how to use SOS morse:

Total Time Units: S + spacing + O + spacing + S = 5 + 3 + 11 + 3 + 5 = 27 time units

The SOS signal is not the letters 'S', 'O', and 'S' separately, but a prosign, like a single character. Having the letter spacing is a very common mistake, as in your second link, but is not "correct".
It is not a very big issue. The message will most likely be understood.
