Possible to release a build?

Looks like there is some work being done but I am not a developer. Is it possible that someone could make a build for the app so I can just download it?

But keep in mind, that the most recent release is about 3 years old.

Maybe I'm confused but is this repo not intended to be used? I mean, I know I can get a release from fdroid but that's a version without anything that's been done here, right? I am looking to take advantage of the updates here
