V.1 - Permissions & Preset Roles Updated

Overview of Issue

• Some permissions are missing site-level designator (see other issues)
• Need a list of what is linked to each one
• SpEd needs view only role
• New administrators last year reported no access to key features (see Gary) until we manually overrode

Additional features/permissions have been added, too, since the structure was put in place. Because of that, some of the "bundled" permissions don't allow for the newer features and those have to be added after the user is created and categorized. For example, a new principal is granted administrator privileges, but then we have to tack on permissions to the export items and to the edit transcript piece.

I'll work up a full list soon.

Right....thanks, Gary. A list would be helpful. I noticed yesterday with Robert that permission to view / edit GPAs was somehow inadvertently tied to "Big Red Button" permission. So...another example. I think a list of which permission "codes" are tied to which permission "features" would be good. Robert (and maybe Cristina?) would have insight beyond the existing screen.

The Special Ed Module one for sure needs a site-based permission.

The "presets" definitely need redone by role.

Here is the current list of presets:

I was thinking of renaming / adjusting the presets something like:

• Teacher - School Level
• Administrator - School Level
• Teacher - District Wide
• Administrator - District Wide
• System Administrator

That is pretty much what we have, but would need to look at the list of what new ones need added, and see if there are any mismatches.
