Including elevation

Currently all calculations and api's are based on lat/lon. The issue here is that elevation is not accounted for. I am curious if we should include elevation. If I were on ground level of a building and someone on the 50th floor of a highrise I shouldn't be able to assassinate. Thoughts?

Definitely agree. The geolocation service provided by Phonegap has altitude and altitude accuracy parameters as part of the position, although I recall reading that is not universally supported. At least as a temporary measure I could pass an optional altitude parameter when providing current location.

According to this, altitude accuracy is not supported by Android.

No word on altitude itself, but I noticed that my own device is sending null back for current altitude when requested. It may not be available on my device.
