Using this plugin with Leaflet.TileLayer.PouchDBCached

I installed the Leaflet.TileLayer.PouchDBCached plugin to cache the tiles for offline use, but it doesn't seem to work. The plugin keeps requesting tiles from the server and ignores the cache.
did anybody tried this?
