Translate individual fields

For our use cases, translating entire entries has proven little useful. I understand that it makes sense if you add new entries yourself and want to translate everything quickly.

But often, translations are pre-made and verified editorially. So, then we don't need auto translate. But then suddenly, one tiny part changes. Maybe a wording change in the source language's lead. Or a disclaimer somewhere. Here it would be very useful to DeepL individual fields quickly. (I don't like the os based deepl Plugin, it adds too much clutter).

AFAIS there is no such option currently? Like, just a button "Translate to / from" next to each RTE or Plain text field?

There are two ways you can accomplish this.

1. Disabled the fields that don't need translation

• Click the "More options..." button
• Select the fields to ignore:

2. Translate matrix blocks one by one:

Under the action menu of a matrix block you can find a 'Translate to...' action. The results depends on the propagation method. If a block with same id exists in the target site it can be updated, in other cases it will create a new block in the matrix.

I'll keep this in mind for future updates, but translating just one field is only guaranteed to work if the field is on the root element.
