Enhancement: Would be good to support retrieving query parameters in the request interface

Ran into a situation the other day at work where I wanted to verify the query parameters used on requests to the simulator.

I've got a proposed PR for this, coming shortly.

HI @gweakliem, I believe this usecase is supported in the latest version. Can you update and try it out? The basic example should provide a good example of what's currently supported.
