Verilator version issue

Which version of verilator should I use?

I run make run with Verilator 5.020 2024-01-01 rev (Debian 5.020-1) and got following error from verilator.py:

I haven't run any of the tests since around 2019. So whatever version of Verilator was current back then is probably a good starting point.
