Provide dark/light mode for our docs

It would be nice to have a dark/light mode toggle option across our docs.

Thanks, @eddieturizo. I can imagine a lot of different ways this could be done, from just swapping the background and text colors to having separate images, etc. We'll also want to make sure that any content we include (such as the nav bar and footer) respond appropriately as well.

@eddieturizo I'll keep this in mind as we go through the current website re-design, but I've found that using a browser extension like Dark Reader seems to provide pretty good functionality.

I have used Dark Reader as well. The problem I found with a non-native solution like Dark Reader is that it makes our code snippets appear washed out in the darkness. That makes the user experience less than ideal in my opinion.

Using this with css/scss variables/mixins seems promising to support the user preferred layout. You can use a javascript toggle as a fallback control as well.
