Query/Search capability within the AppCenter based on App reputation

Hello all.
This one may be a simple one - would it be possible to add a sorting logic within the AppCenter so then users could search for Apps based on the number of positive reviews from users?
The idea isn't to "punish" any given publisher. It is just that, sometimes, users may be simply looking for something which they may not be completely familiar with and/or for a fast result and, depending on each case, the simplest Apps (so, suitable for all, or at least to the majority of users) may be the easiest/most suitable option.
For instance, I'm looking for a functional Wine alternative (just to give you an example), and although I may see lots of options to try, all of them seem to require professional training as a requirement to make them work.
For regular domestic users, this is rather cumbersome.
I spoke with another Elementary user who also struggles with the same aspect and the feedback I got is that "this is how it works these days... If you download one App and it doesn't achieve the results you hope to, uninstall it and pick the next one. One day you may find some that you may actually understand."
This isn't very encouraging.
In that sense, if a sorting logic could be added within the AppCenter so then users could narrow down the search criteria then it would simplify the overall system adoption.

Thanks, @teamcons... I'm not a publisher. I'm an user.
In an user perspective, today, finding (or sorting) an app is a blind exercise in Elementary.
As an user, we can input a subject or a functionality in the "Search" field, but we can't arrange the order in which the apps will be presented. For example, if I want to sort the results based on popularity of any given apps, then there's no way I can do so.
Such functionality exists, for example, in the Microsoft App Store, in Google's Play (screenshot attached), in the Apple Store and is also available in some Linux Distros (I think I remember seeing it at least in Deepin and Zorin).
Not sure how complex such development would be (it would require counting the number of downloads of all existing apps and/or require user feedback - i.e. thumbs ups - on all apps, but I'd say that such feedback should be optional, not a requirement).
Well, in last analysis, Elementary could even find value in such feature to monetize over billable apps (if a publisher charges for an app, then I find it reasonable to charge them a distribution fee for the distribution within the OS as well, and it could be transactional based - per each sell made, a fee would be due but, to conciliate sales, Elementary would need to be able to check how many times a certain app was sold).
That counting, for example, could support such App sorting logic.
Well, I'm just brainstorming...
