Problem

I cannot use elementary calendar to view Nepali calendar (bikram sambat calendar) dates. There are other calendars around the world that are in use. Within Nepal there is also Nepal calendar (Nepal sambat.)

Proposal

I would like to see alternative calendar support that can be used to view date.

The main challenge i see with implementation is managing the data for these calendar dates. I'm not familiar with other calendars but the bikram sambat calendar doesn't have a fixed number of days in its months. It's based on the lunar cycle and a solar adjustment that is made to align the lunar months with the solar year.

It sounds like a lot of plumbing work in Calendar, settings and the wingpanel indicator, especially if the devs do not know said calendar...
