How to preload and pass data to panel before showing it?

I would like to show more details inside a panel, but first, I need to fetch that from the server then render it on the panel.

Is it possible? How can I do that?

Inside of main controller, you can fetch the detail data from server. Then you can send the data to the panel's controller by using broadcast. The point is that how to pass some data from controller to controller.

I was looking something similar to Angular UI Modal where we define a hash of promises that needs to be resolved before showing the modal. Something like:

panels.open('testmenu', {
    resolve: {
        user: function() {
            return User.find(id).$promise;
        }
    }
});
