Resistor

Hi, I have just ordered 10 PCBs from pcbway which im excited to build up, I have ordered 5M SK6812 300LED and a 20amp 5V Power supply too, I need to locate the level shifter, a 10V Capacitor as you mentioned in another post, but would like explanation of why a resistor is important? I guess its safe to add a fuse supplying the board too?

So I've ordered 1/4w 300ohm resistor anyway

sorry for the late reply. The resistor should prevent voltage spikes on the data line from damaging the strip ;)
