Technical specifics
What: Originally Data Viewer was a seperate app because the react version for scigateway and h5 were incompatible. This is no longer the case. We will need to manage significantly less dependencies if we simply migrate the data viewer and text viewer into the frontend.
Why: Managing the drifting dependencies required for h5 + h5grove + scigateway + react + next + vite is extremely time consuming and complex
Who: Everyone. The time sink is immense.
How: We are spending an inordinate amount of time messing around with drifting dependcies.
Plus with Vlads work this will take significantly less time.
