Handling reputation gains from multiple factions

I don't know if it's because I'm exalted with Cenarian Expedition or what, but I'm finding that killing trash in Heroic Underbog is giving Sporeggar rep (45 per, too, which is nice).

I can verify if it's due to my Druid's standing with CE in a little while. While there, I checked on Steam Vault and Slave Pens. It appears this is unique to Underbog. Makes getting Sporeggar rep a lot less painful.

It appears to be an "and" thing. If you're not exalted with both Sporeggar and CE, you get 45 and 15, respectively. CE also always wins out when the bar switches (which isn't entirely a bad thing, since it's better to have one always win than it switch at random).

Perhaps we could have something that handles this kind of situation? At the very least, I'm thinking perhaps switch to the "secondary" (in this case, Sporeggar) one when the "primary" (CE) is exalted (regardless of the "inactive" setting)? This seems a bit rare in the case of dungeon reputation, but I've seen other cases where one gets reputation from multiple factions when turning something in or using an item.

Resurrecting this one a bit, since it's a lot more prevalent in the recent expansions with the whole Emissary thing. In fact, it is now possible to gain reputation with three factions simultaneously (doing a WQ in a zone for one faction, while the emissary is in the same zone for a different faction, and with a contract buff active for another faction).

It'd be nice if there was a way to determine which faction the user would be most interested in in such cases.

Pipe dream/"ideal" way:

• If character has a contract buff, show that faction
• If not, show the emissary faction
• Else, use the current logic

However, I don't know if either of the first two are possible (except maybe deducible by the values?).

Also, another option for consideration - the ability to "sticky" a particular faction. Basically, an option like the "show as experience bar" one where that faction is always prioritized over other faction gains on the experience bar.

https://github.com/fizzwidget/faction-friend/releases/tag/v12.0 includes a nearly full rewrite of this addon, with a few new features, few old features retired, and new implementations throughout — so any existing issues are probably either resolved or irrelevant. Please file new issues if you see old problems recurring or new problems arising!

The new version prefers "largest gain" when seeing multiple reputations change within a very short time — which seems to do "the right thing" without needing extra configuration (or even more database maintenance) in most circumstances, including Underbog.

I'm still not perfectly happy with it though — while having an insane time as a Bloodsail admiral, I've noticed it's not very stable when multiple factions are gaining almost the same amount of reputation. Especially when it looks like the game internals are handling fractional amounts and rounding differently across repetitions. So some kind of refinement or settings option is probably coming sooner or later.
