Description
The internal basins in Catalonia, managed solely by the Catalan Water Agency (Agència Catalana de l'Aigua), include rivers such as the Muga, Fluvià, Ter, and others that originate and flow into the Mediterranean, covering 52% of Catalonia. The other 48% includes inter-community basins like the Ebro and Garonne, which cross into other regions or countries, where Catalonia shares management responsibilities with the Spanish government but retains exclusive control over water policing.
The Catalan Transparency Portal's API only provides data for the internal basins, but our students "fixed" this for a workshop project from our Master in Visual Tools to Empower Citizens, which was done in collaboration with the Catalan News Agency (Agència Catalana de Notícies). We should revisit the data processing and add the full data to the dashboard.
