liftover: invalid option -- 's'
liftover: invalid option -- 'f'
liftover: invalid option -- 'c'

when i instead -s by --src-fasta-ref

liftover: unrecognized option '--src-fasta-ref'

I used bcftools-1.20 and score.1.20

You have to use the -- before the -s, -f, and -c options like this:

bcftools +liftover -Oz chr21.vcf.gz -- -s hg19.fa -f GRCh38.fa -c hg19ToHg38.over.chain.gz
