Four labs, Full Capacity

How we could help each laboratory to have all the tools they need to increase capacity

Friendzymes are this group of friends that work in different laboratories to benefit this distributed global enzymes production. So far we have been talking about organizing ourselves around these objectives, and to do that we have to collect our efforts to elevate our capabilities of wet, soft, hard, and legalware.

Here could be a good place to discuss more what we could do this improve our capabilities. This will be definitely a prototype and template that will be shared with more laboratories in the future. From now I think we should start by making the OT-2 installed and useful.

So far that's the status of each laboratory related to OT-2:

• Open Science Network @OSNVancouve
  Installed: YES
  Operatable: NO
  Automated: NO
  Observation: They have a problem related to the machine and are reaching out to Opentrons to see if they could fix that.

• BioBlaze @BioBlazeLab
  Installed: NO
  Operatable: NO
  Automated: NO
  Observation: Move from @eyesmo house when we start actually running protocols there.

• Hive Biolab @kumasihive
  Installed: YES
  Operatable: YES
  Automated: NO
  Observation: Samoh Prince is available to run protocols using the machine. He also has shared some thoughts about what are the interesting protocols they need there: PCR, Golden Gate, Mini Preps, DNA Extraction.

• PGC Mindanao @PCGMindanao
  Installed: YES

  Automated: NO
  Observation: They already are available to run protocols. PGC Mindanao share a document with problems they're interested to resolve. Will be good to find intersection between problems and solutions using the OT-2, so they could use the machine more!
