Sadly I don't have the time (nor background knowledge) to look into this. I ended up using my tablet for 2FA instead of my FirefoxOS phone because of this issue - since I have 10 or so accounts and couldn't face having to type them all by hand.

That's a good data point thank you. It's definitely a feature that's currently missing. I don't have a lot of time on my hands to add it right now either but I am certainly looking forward to adding it, would be great to have.
