When I install grc for `ls` , LS_COLORS gets ignored

I don't know if this is expected behaviour, but I had hoped that grc would leave existing colors alone and add colors where possible.

But when grc takes over ls, all my files and directories show up in white

Same here.

I had to add this to my bash aliases:

# Fix some grc aliases
alias "ls"="$( which grc ) --colour=auto ls --color=always"

Using color=always is not a good practice though

Looks like GRC is abandonware. For example, the install.sh doesn't work for non-default install dirs. I came here to report, but looks like not much use.

ProTip: Don't use ls anymore. Switch to eza.
