Simple instruction on how to use your jtable filter extension

Hi,

Can you pls give simple instruction on how to use this your jtable filter extension. I have added the filter: true in initialization options and then added option filter: true on each field that requires filtering. I'm using the latest jtable 2.3.1

My question is, what are the other options for your jtable filter extension, i can see fromRange: 'From', toRange: 'To' what are they used for?

Also how can i modify the filter input fields to come on top/before the Apply Filter, Remove Filter buttons (that is inside

<form id="jtable-filter-form" class="jtable-filter-form")

so that the filter input fields would not be displayed inside the jtable header?

Hi.

My bad... I didn't have the time to publish the project page with sample
code yet...

Filter extension usage is as follows:

append filter:true to table options.
Then add filter options on each field you want to be able to filter. You
have two filtering options:

1. filter: true (displays an input field on the header row where you can
   input your filtering options... If the column is of text* type_, it will
   display a text field. If it's of *date type_ you will get a DatePicker
   field. If it's an option field type, it wil display the available options
   for the filter, and so on)

and

2. filter: 'range' (displays two input fields in order to filter by range,
   useful for filter by range of values/dates/etc.)

The filter form on top of the table is created for two reasons

1. to hold the filtering buttons
2. to hold filter input field for columns that are configured to be
   filtered but that are not shown on the table. If you have a field with
   option list: false, you will get it's input field for the filter next to
   the filtering buttons on top of the table.

If you want to detach the search field from the table you will have to
write some code of your own. This feature is not implemented yet.

Hopefully the project page will be up soon. I'll post some examples there
for my extensions.

Hi,

I downloaded and installed your filter extension, which works great! However, I use checkboxes on a few pages and the columns did not align correctly. After debugging the code I was able to fix this. Here is what I did -

Right above line 128 I added this code.

if (this.options.selectingCheckboxes !== false) {
self._createHeaderCellForFilter(null, {})
.appendTo($tr);
}

Just thought I should share too!!!
