vip function from vip package does not work with gbm3

I tried to use vip from the package vip v. 0.4.1 to visualize results from a gbm3 model. It returns the error message 'Error: Model-specific variable importance scores are currently not available for this type of model.' Would be nice if this could be resolved.

Seems like this is a problem with vip and not gbm3, right? Do you get the same error when you just run the model directly in gbm3? Since gbm3 was never on CRAN we decided not to support it in vip. @gregridgeway I think you can close this issue. @popkowiersma feel free to submit an issue in the vip repo! Not against it, just might take a while to add support. Of course, PRs are always welcome!!
