Thanks for sharing. I actually have a few rpi pico W and W2 boards that I wanted to try this with but had not had the time yet. I'll try them out next week to see how well they work. I also have a few ESP32 boards I wanted to test the same way. I have used the HCI UART mode on Nordic boards for a while now, which came in very handy for testing LE Audio and Auracast, but they don't support Classic, so the RPI and ESP32 would be a good addition to my test bed. |

I've been using a RPI Pico W with this firmware https://github.com/auracast-research/pico-uart-hci to snoop Bluetooth traffic between a thermal label maker (uses SPP) and an App in a Android Emulator in Windows. I've also tested it with a Niimbot printer that I think uses BLE and some Bluetooth headphones. The one thing that I tested that didn't work was connecting a Samsung S23 FE to the Android Emulator API 36.1, I think it is some kind of crash in the pico because I had to reset it for it to work after that.
It is much easier to work with this because it just appears as a com port and there's no need to bother with drivers and firmware except dragging and dropping a uf2 file to the pico the first time.
Haven't tested it but I also found a ESP32 UART HCI firmware.
