ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'imp'

I get this error running the example

guildai::guild_run("train.R")

with the latest dev from github. I am running Python 3.12.3.

Thanks for the report. I can reproduce locally.

The issue does not appear with python<3.12.

E.g.,:

reticulate::install_python("3.11") # might take a few minutes
guildai::install_guild(python = reticulate::virtualenv_starter("3.11"))

Then it should work:

guildai::guild_run("train.R")

Note that when using guildai-r, the venv that guild uses is independent from any python installation that the R code uses through reticulate. I.e., the R code can use Python 3.12 (or any other version), while the (stand-alone, isolated) guild installation uses 3.11.
