Need UI feature to filter submissions by track, as a reviewer

I am reviewing Fifth El submissions, and would like to be able to filter all submissions pertaining to one track - https://hasgeek.com/fifthelephant/fifthelephant-2025-cfp/. Currently am not able to find such a feature on the UI.

Agreed, but for the sake of correct vocabulary, submissions have tags, not tracks, and unfortunately tags come in two-flavours: user-assigned and editor-assigned. Users can only choose from editor-provided choices. This has been a cause of confision, so #1421 proposes a general revision of tagging mechanisms. FWIW, this does not block UI changes to add filtering and sorting by existing tags.

I was going to propose using project-scoped search as an interim workaround, but I looked at the current code and it does not consider tags:

Scoped search can be accessed with these URL forms:

• Account: https://hasgeek.com/<account>/search?q=<query>
• Project: https://hasgeek.com/<account>/<project>/search?q=<query>

The query can be any string valid for PostgreSQL's websearch_to_tsquery. Including tags in the search scope is probably an easy fix, but (a) we don't have a pre-parser to control such options for more fine-tuning, and (b) at the moment there's no one working on UI, so that will be a longer wait.

Would a URL-based UI be okay for immediate needs?

URL-based UI would be fine for now. Looking at this page: https://hasgeek.com/fifthelephant/fifthelephant-2025-cfp/sub/building-high-performance-pydata-tools-by-adding-g-APPUrgHnWYbDyoHB663Rzs - there is a part "Choose the topic your submission falls under: Data & ML Infrastructure track". I'd like to be able to get to all the "Data & ML Infrastructure track" submissions for a given edition of the conference. IIUC, editor-assigned tags are being used to implement tracks on the UI.

Two interim workarounds:

1. Use the legacy CSV interface, which has labels as one header, albeit mashed together into a single string:

Hi,
Can you make this feature such that I can share links to specific tracks while sharing info about a conference? The output needs to be a webpage and not CSV etc. Currently I really miss being able to do that.
