Node.js installation with magento info

Hello, 
if I want to use Node.js on magento do I have to instal Node.js web server on a different server or directly on virtualmin pro or cpanel????
I am confused and don't know where Node.js has to be installed, sorry I am not system admin neather software developer but just a project owner
