[Android] cannot go back to a previous page after using a deep link

1. log into the iCrew mobile app
2. navigate to some pages within the app
3. switch to another another app (such as email, notes, etc) and click a link that opens in the iCrew app
4. attempt to go back to the previous page you were on before clicking the link

Expected behavior: the app goes back to the previous page

Actual/reported behavior: The app does not go back

First impression of what the issue may be: maybe the link that opens in the app is starting a new activity or something in android, making the internal browser lose all context of what the previous pages were.

This could be related to the fixing of the back button functionality in general on android that was released a few weeks ago with the latest google play updates. Needs confirming whether this is a unique issue though.
