Model Description
This is a model of the Sodium-cooled Thermal-spectrum Advanced Test Reactor. It is a near copy of the MARVEL model based on open source data that has previously been approved and published by INL. It is a simple model designed to be accessible to students and researchers with little computation resources but still have representative reactor physics of the MARVEL microreactor.
Project description
This work was funded by the National Reactor Innovation Center (NRIC) and Idaho National Laboratory (INL) in collaboration with DOE's Microreactor Program (MRP).
Impact
This brings a publicly available research model in MCNP and OpenMC of a MARVEL-like reactor that can be used by stakeholders to drive research and engagement.
