Broken nmcli params on Linux install

Connecting to Wi-Fi 'my wifi' on wlp9s0... 

Failed to connect to Wi-Fi 'my wifi'.

Retrying in 10s (Ctrl+C to abort).........

I've tested this on my Raspberry Pi Zero, not working. Tested on my Fedora install, not working. Tested on my home lab (Debian), same result. Tested the Mac params, works great. Looks to be something in sudo nmcli device wifi rescan ifname. Anyone run into this? Any good solution? This works wonderfully on my Mac, just trying to automate this with home assistant and a pi zero

Seems to be a long running issue/bug with NetworkManager.

I have found a workaround!

Use this command to add and save credentials for both networks (EZShare and Home):

sudo nmcli connection add type wifi con-name "NAME" ifname wlan0 ssid "SSID" wifi-sec.key-mgmt wpa-psk wifi-sec.psk "Password"

in sync.sh, line 117 change:

        if sudo nmcli device wifi connect "${ssid}" password "${password}" ifname "${wifiAdaptor}" &>/dev/null; then
          connected=true
        fi

to:

        if sudo nmcli device wifi connect "${ssid}" &>/dev/null; then
          connected=true
        fi

It will then used the passwords saved in your system. Not the most elegant fix as changing wifi networks will need to be done both in system and by ./sync.sh --remove-home but as a quick fix it works for now
