Use Chromo to estimate the cross section of nuclear interaction p + C -> B + X

I am using Chromo to simulate the collision between Carbon(1 TeV) and proton(Fixed target). I hope I can find Boron in the produced particles to estimate the cross section of p + C -> B + X. But I saw many PDGID(99999), which further decay into mesons. Are these PDGID(99999) nuclear fragments? How can I estimate the cross section of p +C -> B + X using Chromo?

I learned from another issue(Ions in final_state() #183) that Pythia8 can return the remnants of nuclei. And I use Pythia8 to simulate the collision of proton and carbon, but got RuntimeWarning: Support for nuclei is experimental; event generation takes a long time and then segmentation fault. What is the problem ? Here are my codes:

Apologies for tracking this quite late. Most models in Chromo, even if they produce some fragments are not reliable since they are missing the nuclear physics of evaporation and decay und unstable fragments.

So while it may work for e.g. EPOS or DPMJET, this wouldn't be a very accurate result. Pythia8 doesn't have the low-energy nuclear physics implemented either, an I wouldn't recommend it for your use case at all.

We're working on an experimental interface to FLUKA, that should produce likely the most accurate result.
