as to our succesful collaboration to the Wii Nunchuk, I now would like to propose a new project:
An Arduino Lib for Sony PS2 control ;)
There is a working lib at Github, but it's not ARM compatible:

I wrote a PS2 driver (based on HID) for node.js actually some time ago: https://github.com/infusion/node-gamecontroller
Unfortunately, I crashed my controller and I only get garbage out :(
