Description: Suspend resume operation is blackscreen when external monitor is connected on ThinkPad P16 Gen1 with Intel DG2 GPU.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Install Fedora 38 on ThinkPad P16 Gen1 with Intel DG2 GPU.
  2. Reboot the system.
  3. Connect an external monitor to the HDMI port.
  4. Set to extended desktop.
  5. Suspend the system. --> Keypoint
  6. Resume the system. --> Problem

Actual Results:
Both internal and external monitors are blackscreen with blinking cursor on the internal display.

Expected Results:
Both internal and external monitor should display normally after suspend resume operation.

System: ThinkPad P16 Gen 1
Platform: SKU3
BIOS: N3FET34W
EC: N3FHT19W
OS: Fedora 38
Kernel: 6.2.15-300.fc38.x86_64
CPU: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12850HX
Display Adapter:
Intel(R) Arc(TM) Pro A30M Graphics
Intel(R) UHD Graphics
External Monitor: Asus PA27AC

Others:

  1. The problem could also be reproduced on Ubuntu 22.04 with 6.1.0-1007-oem kernel.
  2. The problem could not be reproduced on Ubuntu 22.04 with 5.17.0-1020-oem kernel plus graphics driver installed from Intel repo.
  3. The problem could not be reproduced on ThinkPad P16 Gen2 with Intel DG2.
