Hello! I see that you've made a bunch of improvements after forking off from the original gem. Nice!
I'm helping bluemonk, the author of the original gem, to work towards an 1.0 release. Track here:

Are there major bug fixes or other changes from your repo that you think we should upstream?
Trying to keep the list of items reasonable though, and focusing on stuff that are potentially breaking changes, and thus should go into a 1.0 release. So general enhancements, while useful, are things that I think it's better we save for 1.1 or 1.2.
I'm also interested in getting the 1.0 out, so don't want to add too much stuff into this release, otherwise we risk never getting a release out.
