MS Edge doesn't support onstorage events, affects `universalCoverage` config option

Edge 12+ have a problem with _localStorage_ [`onstorage` events](https://connect.microsoft.com/IE/feedback/details/1694027/storage-event-not-firing-after-a-change-of-local-storate-windows-10-edge-browser). Would fix using JS cookie polling... 

Anyone have a better idea for fix?
